Water Detection Sensors
Water leakages can occur from pipes - a Simple fact! The water leakage needs to be detected as early as is possible - A doubly simple fact! The more leakage the more difficult is the stoppage and repair going to be. The leakage may occur into housing areas or buildings with computers and such susceptible equipment. The damage that could possibly occur can be controlled by timely detection by a water detection sensors. If water has leaked for a long time, more water is wasted in a world where water has become an important hard-to-waste commodity. More water will be lying around causing the formation of mildew and fungus. The early detection of flood waters is as important. History relates the complete destruction of a city in Europe due to rising flood waters at night. Thousands died in their beds. The floodwater detection system could have changed history.

These buildings would usually be having a false floor. Timely detection of leakage by water detection sensors is extremely important in the saving of the false floor from extensive damage.
The damp or humid atmosphere created, would be unhealthy for the computer systems. Damage to the computers can occur in the form of fungus. The timely detection can only be achieved by appropriate equipment called water detection sensors.
Heating or process pipes require surveillance too as they are susceptible to damage by weathering and other reasons. Here again timely detection can limit the damage and permit rapid repairs. The repairs if delayed can inconvenience a large population who very much wish to return to warm and cosy homes especially in winter. Once again water detection sensors come in useful.
Another point of surveillance is near drip troughs. These drip troughs are being used in paint dispensing systems, film developing, X-ray units and the laboratories. Installation of a water sensor comes in very useful here. The liquids in these drip troughs can cause damage to the flooring and whoever comes in contact with them. Strong reactions are possible in the skin of those who get into contact. The use of the water detection system becomes unavoidable.
Flood water detection system is another very essential system. A flood is an emergency situation especially during the night or when everyone has gone to bed. It is a time when nobody sees the water rising on the sly. The sleeping town may be unaware of the flooding of nearby rivers or other water systems. The only go is to have a water detection system installed. Lives would be saved and damage to buildings , animals, birds and the like can be limited.
The water detection systems can vary from a simple loud sounding alarm to a sophisticated monitoring water detection system depending on the situation it is used for. Cables & water alert systems are the main parts of the water detection systems. The cable sensors may be 2 or 3 in number. They are usually of standard lengths of 12, 24 or 36 feet and can stretch into various directions and at the same time be connected to the water alert system. They are actually extensions of the sensor probes within the water alert system in the water detector. When any of the cables come into contact with water, the water alert system is activated. A minimum of 1/16 of an inch is enough to activate the system. The water alert sensor cables are now made of a material which does not absorb or wick or trap moisture. This allows space for minimal cleaning and maintenance unlike the water detection systems with older cables which even had to be replaced.
Depending on the area specified for water detection, the water detection system is selected. An installation plan has to be made first. The number of electronic monitors must be relative to the area. The number of cables and their lengths are also determined with respect to the extent of area to be under surveillance. Later additions can be made to the water detection system depending on future requirement. The cables are flexible and can be easily pulled in or wired earlier for easy installation. The water detection cables should rest on the surface to be under surveillance and also be tested for insulation resistance.
Flood water detection systems sometimes use the GSM sensors whereby SMSs may be activated and some cell phone gets the message as per the program. The GSM water detection sensor will have also a preprogrammed phone number which gets the alarm message. If a speaker is attached, the resulting message will be heard loudly, inspiring more people to respond to the emergency situation.
More than any security system, the flood water detection system is one which prevents catastrophes which could occur due to untimely floods. The water detection systems in computer housing institutions and apartments also do play an important role in the security systems.
