The perspective of security systems has drastically changed during the past 50 years what with the 'Ben Johnson pace' of development of electronics. Security now has reached heights seemingly unfathomable. You cry help and immediately someone turns up with some device or method to pull you out.
One needs security for a home. Alarms are some of the earliest security systems for preventing trespassers or thieves from access. These burglar alarms may be connected to the police station or to the company which provides the security. There are those to detect fires or smoke. A more sophisticated friend may install the Closed Circuit television or video surveillance as a security system to identify the one at the door or even see who ransacks the house.
There is a security system for carbon monoxide detection. Carbon monoxide is a colorless odorless gas that is produced from a malfunctioning car. It has a history of causing deaths unawares. The person who is inhaling it cannot differentiate it from normal air and slowly passes out into unconsciousness and then death. A detector for this gas is a blessing in that it detects it long before death could occur.
Shops and important buildings which house costly materials or documents need the advanced varieties of security systems to prevent shoplifting, view the scene of crime and spot the criminal after the incident. This could be as Closed Circuit television, video recorders or security cameras. The closed circuit television is placed so that the customers or trouble makers appear on the monitor. A record is simultaneously saved. Depending on the layout of a shop or complex, one has to adopt an appropriate security system apart from security guards. The cameras now available range from bullet types through dummy, dome, spy to wireless varieties. Wireless and video intercom systems hold good when the area to be scrutinized becomes larger.
Above all is the need for business security systems which goes almost hand in hand with Internet security. The competition in this field requires the necessity to guard valuable data from access by unauthorized elements. The software security systems have the power to prevent gaining access to, report readily and accurately the status and whether access has occurred. They see to it that spam, spyware and phishing are rooted out. Internet controls are optimized. Data theft, viruses, worms, hacking, automated attacks and other malicious activity are stopped. Security systems certainly bring down the level of possible cyber crime.

The feasibility of the various security systems must be analyzed before employing them.
If not for the newer security systems available, it would not have been easy to detect cyber crime which has reached menacing proportions. Somebody breaks out into a criminal act probably under the illusion that it would not be detected and then someone else comes out with a solution to the new problem. Thus security systems are an important necessity today!
